SO HOW DOES IT ALL WORK... AND WHAT WILL IT COST ME???
THE PRE-PORTRAIT Consultation
Before Kevin takes any pictures he'll speak with you personally over the phone to find out what you are looking for, then arrange for a mutually suitable time to meet with all the decision makers in the home. Together you will discuss further details about your session, including clothing choices and colours, the location/s that are available and a suitable date for your experience. (Kevin also creates portraits every second Saturday and Sunday... so weekends aren't an issue for busy Mums and Dads.)
THE PORTRAIT SESSION
This is the day that your pictures are taken. All portraits are done late in the afternoon, when the lighting is best. Depending on the location and the time of year, we usually arrive at the agreed place at around 3.30 to 4pm. The actual picture taking can range anywhere between one to two hours, depending on the number of family members and what portraits are desired (as discussed at the pre-portrait consultation).
Nevertheless, the time will go so quickly. This is a FUN TIME! We want you to have a fun experience whilst your images are captured by Kevin. Don't be concerned if the children are having a bad day... Kevin will handle that ! - this comes from the years of experience in working with all ages of children... toddlers, young school children to the sometimes challenging teens - Kevin has worked with them all and will guarantee you a stress free time.
THE PORTRAIT VIEWING
This is done at an agreed destination, (ideally your home is the best place), with all the decision makers present, to choose from the pictures Kevin has created for you. Usually within a timeframe of seven days from your portrait session. You may be more comfortable in your own home or at another location - using Kevins viewing system or on your own TV ( there are many ways to do this). We ask that you decide at this time, which pictures you would like to have of your family. Kevin will show you sample sizes so you can determine what suits you.
THE PORTRAIT DELIVERY
Depending on the sizes and frames you order, it could take anywhere between 4 to 6 weeks to complete and deliver. (rush orders can be negotiated if needed for special family get togethers). Kevin also offers a FREE picture hanging and fitting service for wall decor portraits.
THE NITTY GRITTY (COST)
There's an OLD saying - "CHEAP work ain't Good and GOOD work ain't Cheap" My father also used to say : "You get what you pay for". Dad always invested that little bit more because he reckoned, in the end, it was either going to last a lot longer or nearly always going to be far better. Dad also said, "There's a reason why that is so cheap, Son", and you know, I don't remember him being wrong too often.
The same can be said for Fine Art Portraits ... Yes, they will cost you you a bit more, but you are getting a superior depiction of your family, that will last you a lifetime - an investment to hand down for generations to come.
In a nutshell, your Portrait creation fee is between $175 to $250, depending on the chosen location, travel and set up time.
Modest Wall Portraits start from around $350 - Large Wall Designs can be thousands of dollars. (Kevin will go through all this with you at the pre-portrait consultation).
